Functional Genomics of Prokaryotes Laboratory Technician
Alma Ruth Reyes studied Biology in Faculty of Biological Sciences UAEM, and PhD in Sciences in Basic and Applied Sciences Institute UAEM. In June 2006, she entered Functional Genomics of Prokaryotes at the Center for Genomic Sciences UNAM as a technician and she participated in various projects. Admission to PhD she was working on the study of hFixL-FxkR regulatory system that regulates genes involved in nitrogen fixation in S. meliloti and R. etli. His work culminated with the publication of several articles in journals of international circulation. Later she collaborated in the study of nitrogen fixing bacteria associated with Acacia sp from mining tailings, at the Center of Biotechnology Research UAEM. She carried out a postdoctoral stay in the Department of Molecular Microbiology of Institute of Biotechnology UNAM, she was working on the study of polyhydroxybutyrate polymer degradation in A. vinelandii. Currently she participates in the Functional Genomics of Prokaryotes, she is working on the study of the participation of chemotaxis of aspartic acid in the metabolism and symbiosis of R. etli and R. phaseoli.
